A story to tell..

A funny thing happened to me on the phone one day. My friend asked how I liked my new pets. I told her we didn't have new pets, but I heard she had some baby ducks. She told me that she thought my son bought some new pets too. I insisted that my son would never bring home any new pets. He didn't have permission and I was just in the garage and there was nothing there. She was pretty sure we had new pets. I again insisted that my son was busy with lacrosse and didn't have time to go to CalRanch with her delinquent son to buy new pets. She told me they went during an assembly at school. "Not my son", I insisted more strongly. We talked back and forth for about 10 minutes while I am insisting that we did not have new pets. I told her to have a great time with her little ducklings and forgot all about the conversation.

Until...........

I walked into my son's room two days later and hear a funny little noise.
"Cheep, cheep, cheep"
At first I thought the noise was coming from the balloons that were on the floor of my son's room. Both of my sons kept hitting the balloons all around, trying to cover up the sound.
"Cheep, cheep, cheep"
This time I followed the sound across the room to the other side of my son's bed. In a little box, with a heating pad, food, and water were my darling new pets. I guess I mean my not so darling son's new pets. (actually this happened in May)

At least they were cute for the picture and Cole, Emily and Kira thought they were cute too.
As a matter of fact, Emily kept insisting that we were going to giver her one of the chicks for her birthday. She even had the one she wanted all picked out.

I was nice to my sister and we took the chicks to live with the ducks at Old MacDonald's farm!!

Our summer in one word....

BASEBALL

and Baseball

Did I mention baseball?

Oh.....and baseball!!!

Lacrosse...A Man's sport

Why on earth would anyone want to run around a field getting chased by people swinging sticks at their heads? This is the new sport in our house. Kalin is playing lacrosse and loving it. He plays midi which is a defender and a scorer. They run the entire length of the field. We have had a great time watching and learning. Kevin's favorite cheer is "hit them harder!!"

It is such a hard sport that they need to take a couch to relax on after the game.

I think he does it for the girls!!!

We found shirts at an Idaho tournament that said
"Lacrosse Dad.....if I knew my son like being hit with sticks, I would have started sooner"
"Lacrosse Mom...beating up soccer moms since 1978"
